Carolyn E. Hartle

Carolyn E. Hartle is the founding member of the Hartle Elder Law Practice, LLC. Mrs. Hartle's practice concentrates on elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, estate and trust administration, and special needs planning. Mrs. Hartle's practice also consists of addressing issues concerning nursing homes, elder abuse, and other concerns of the elder population.

Mrs. Hartle graduated from Loyola University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois in 1993, cum laude, with a B.A. in English and history. She received her J.D. from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1996 However, she attended the University of Pittsburgh's School of Law her last year of law school due to the numerous elder law courses offered at said institution.

After graduating from law school, Mrs. Hartle joined the law firm of Ekker, Kuster & McConnell, now known as Ekker, Kuster, McConnell & Epstein, LLP, as an associate where she remained until July of 2002 when she joined the law firm of Lewis and Ristvey, P.C. Mrs. Hartle was affiliated with the law firm of Lewis and Ristvey, P.C. until August of 2012 when she started the Hartle Elder Law Practice, LLC.

Mrs. Hartle has been admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Mercer County Bar Association. In 2009 and 2010, she served as the Treasurer of the Mercer County Bar Association. In addition, she is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Pennsylvania Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Elder Law Section. She also speaks regularly at senior centers, as well as healthcare and community groups on estate planning, estate administration, and elder law issues. In addition, beginning in January of 2010 and continuing to the present, Mrs. Hartle writes a monthly article in the "Life & Times: A Magazine With Senior Flair."
