Catherine E. DiSanto: Attorney with The Spence Law Firm, LLC

Biography

In 2022, Catherine lost her husband and partner of ten years in a tragic car accident. The incident not only reshaped her life, but expanded Catherine’s understanding of death, loss, and grief—uniquely positioning her to offer heightened compassion and understanding to clients who are in the throes of a life-altering event. Having joined the Spence Law Firm in 2021, Catherine’s practice continues to align with her fundamental belief that everyone deserves access to justice in the wake of a loss.

After earning her undergraduate degree in English and French from Davidson College, Catherine began working with first-time juvenile offenders at a social services nonprofit in Jackson, Wyoming. Catherine’s interest in social justice pushed her to pursue a career in law, where she sought a broad platform from which to help others and affect change.

At the University of Wyoming, Catherine graduated with honors and was selected to the Order of the Coif. She wrote for and edited the Wyoming Law Review, served as a legal writing teaching assistant, and interned at the Spence Law Firm. Her practical experience also included judicial externships at the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Ninth Judicial District of Wyoming, and she was awarded the Janet D. Steiger Fellowship to work on consumer protection matters at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office.

After graduation, Catherine spent two and a half years clerking for the Honorable Kari Jo Gray at the Wyoming Supreme Court, where she was exposed to all manner of civil, criminal, and administrative appeals.

Outside of her work, Catherine serves on the board of Community Safety Network, which seeks to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in Jackson, Wyoming. She relishes spending time with her family and friends, as well as skiing, backpacking, and trail running with her two highly energetic bird dogs.
