Biography

Cathy Bowerman is a Principal with Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, and represents clients in the defense of medical malpractice actions against hospitals and physicians, with an emphasis in emergency medicine. In addition, she has experience with medical staff and licensing issues. Cathy has lectured both locally and nationally on medical malpractice topics for the American College of Emergency Physicians and other medical/legal conferences and seminars.

Prior to joining Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, PLLC, she served as in-house counsel for the University of Michigan Hospitals, was an associate attorney with Cozadd, Shangle, Smith & Andrews, P.C. and a Principal at Siemion-Huckabay, P.C.

Cathy carries Martindale-Hubbell’s “A-V” rating and has been named Michigan Super Lawyer in 2012. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) and the Washtenaw County Bar Association.

Cathy is the proud mother of two grown daughters, who at ages 28 and 30, are finally financially independent in their respective fields of business and medicine.She now enjoys travel off the beaten path around the globe. In addition to numerous places in the United States, in recent times she has traveled extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and South America. Whether cycling, hiking, or kayaking, she always has a camera at the ready for not only wildlife, nature and human photography, but for the spontaneous and humorous shots she often captures in her travels.
