Biography

Cesar Rueda's passion for housing advocacy was sparked during his childhood when his family, undocumented immigrants, faced potential eviction from their low-income apartment. He joined his family and neighbors in protests; they took to the streets telling anyone that would listen that this was their home and they had a right to remain. After weeks of protests, they were surprised by the results… they won.

Cesar began his career in eviction defense as a volunteer at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. He quickly found the work immensely rewarding. Through guiding clients in preparing their cases, Cesar learned the power of offering hope. His personal experiences and professional dedication drive him to be a zealous advocate for clients, empowering them against unjust housing practices.

He received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School where he earned the distinction of Junior Advocate of the Year in the Trial Advocacy Honors Program, 2020 - 2021. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley and a Certificate in Negotiations from the Harvard Business School.
