Biography

Charles "Chuck" A. Hornewer brings more than 40 years of litigation experience to Wise Law Offices, focusing on complex medical malpractice, product liability, nursing home negligence, and catastrophic injury cases. A seasoned trial lawyer with a commanding courtroom presence, Chuck has tried matters for both plaintiffs and defendants, representing injured individuals, institutions, sporting-event producers, and medical professionals. Before joining Wise Law Offices he was a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson and Phillips Law Offices and later founded the Hornewer Law Firm to pursue more direct client advocacy. A DePaul University College of Law graduate and former member of the DePaul Law Review and Moot Court Society, he is admitted in Illinois state and federal courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He holds memberships in the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Society of Trial Lawyers, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, has lectured and published widely on trial strategy and malpractice, and has earned an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and recognition as an Illinois Super Lawyer.
