Charles attended Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, obtaining his Juris Doctor in December 2005. While in law school, he was the recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. Before law school, Charles earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from Augustana University in South Dakota. Charles is currently licensed to practice law in Nebraska and Iowa.

Charles is a dedicated attorney with a focus on family law, trust and probate administration, and estate planning. Before joining the Omaha divorce and family lawyers at Stange Law Firm, Charles most recently spent four years as an attorney for a law firm in Omaha, where he managed probate and trust administrations, advised on estate planning, and represented clients in both Nebraska and Iowa, including appellate cases. He also provided corporate advocacy in areas such as entity formation, real estate transactions, and contract drafting while representing clients before Nebraska and Iowa Health and Human Services. Before this, Charles focused on drafting and reviewing trusts, asset identification, and inheritance tax filings. He also collaborated with estate planning teams to explore legal strategies for trust administration. Previously, he served as Legal Counsel for the Nebraska Legislature’s Education Committee, where he drafted education legislation, reviewed proposed bills, and negotiated with interest groups. Early in his career, Charles worked on bankruptcy cases, taught law, and managed claims in the title insurance industry.
