Charles R. Rubright

Charels 'Chuck' Rubright is a partner and former chair of the Bose McKinney & Evans Education Law Group. Chuck has extensive practical experience in negotiations, arbitration, employee dismissals, public section employee and retirement benefit matters, and litigation of public sector labor questions. He was formerly a hearing examiner and mediator for the Indiana Education Employment Relations Board. He has been a practicing attorney since 1974, a member of the firm since 1975 and a partner since 1982. He also served for 24 years on the firm's Executive Committee.

Chuck has negotiated and settled more than 365 collective bargaining agreements. He has negotiated contracts for Indiana public schools ranging in size as small as Crothersville to as large as the Gary Community School Corporation. Currently Chuck is serving as chief negotiator in several school districts. Additionally, Chuck personally serves as general counsel to the Anderson Community School Corporation, and M.S.D. Washington Township. Chuck also has been extensively involved in implementing the mandates of Senate Enrolled Act 199, Performance Based Compensation requirements imposed by the IEERB, and restructuring retirement benefits at numerous school corporations.

Speaker: Chuck has been a frequent lecturer on collective bargaining, public employment issues, including fringe benefit and retirement matters before the Indiana School Boards Association, Indiana Association for School Business Officials, Indiana University, Purdue University, and Butler University. Chuck regularly serves as a trainer for employment law and collective bargaining for new principals and superintendents.
