Biography

Chris attended Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2004. While attending law school, he received Dean’s Honors and served as the Student Editor-in-Chief (May 2003-May 2004) and a Student Research Editor (Aug. 2002-May 2003) for the ABA Family Law Quarterly. Before studying law, Chris attended Kansas State University where he earned both a Master of Arts in Spanish Language Acquisition and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Chris is licensed and ready to help clients in the state of Kansas.

Before joining the Overland Park, Kansas divorce and family law attorneys at Stange Law Firm, Chris most recently worked as an attorney for a child support government contractor. In this role, he worked to establish paternity and child support for the Kansas Department for Children and Families in Sedgwick County, Kansas, which included drafting of pleadings and other legal documents for a large caseload, representing DCF in court proceedings, and interacting with internal and external clients. He also worked to modify child support obligations for his clients. Before this, Chris worked in various legal roles over the past 20 years including as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Kansas Office of Administrative Hearings, a Deputy Director of Child Support Services for the Department for Children and Families in Kansas, and a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York City. Chris is a dedicated family lawyer who takes pride in his legal work. He is focused on helping you navigate the difficult waters of your divorce or family law matter and is eager to help you rebuild your life.

Outside of his legal work, Chris is dedicated to giving back to his community. Throughout his career he has served in various roles for community-based organizations such as the Kansas Child Support Enforcement Association, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity of Salina, Kansas. Chris is also fluent in spoken and written Spanish.
