Biography

Christa P. McLeod is a member of the Litigation Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s New Jersey office. In addition to her experience in private practice, Christa has served as judicial law clerk for both the Hon. Justin T. Quinn, U.S.M.J. at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Hon. John D. O’Dwyer, P.J.S.C. at the Bergen County Superior Court. Her experience includes complex business disputes, securities law, professional liability, and False Claims Act litigation. She has drafted pleadings and legal memoranda, argued before both state and federal courts, deposed fact and expert witnesses and negotiated settlements.

• Defeated motion to dismiss on behalf of relator in a qui tam action brought for fraudulent billing practices, including submitting Government Payor forms with altered codes and patient information.°

• Represented relator in a qui tam case related to alleged underbilling of E911 surcharges by certain telecommunications companies dating back to 2007.°

• Represented investor alleging fraud related to key performance indicator disclosures by social media company.°

• Secured settlement on behalf of relator in qui tam action alleging submission of fraudulent applications to the government for loans under the Paycheck Protection Program.°

• Represented national real estate developer in litigation in the Southern District of New York alleging misappropriation of business opportunities.°

• Represented the founder and common shareholders of an education tech company in a bench trial in the Delaware Court of Chancery over a disputed merger with the company’s controlling shareholder.°

• Represented New Jersey township in negotiations with Fair Share Housing Center regarding affordable housing obligations under Mount Laurel doctrine.°

• Represented New Jersey supplier of construction materials in appeal of state agency decision denying the company’s certification as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise.°

• Secured dismissal of multiple claims in bench trial before the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division regarding the parameters of easement rights.°
