Christian J. Miele: Attorney with Pinder Plotkin LLC

Biography

Christian J. Miele, Esq. is an attorney with the Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, representing Maryland clients in personal injury, auto accident, truck accident, dog bite, workers’ compensation, and estate matters. Few attorneys in the state bring a public-service record as directly relevant to advocating for injured and hardworking Marylanders.

Christian was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2014, representing Baltimore County’s 8th District for two terms. He sat on the House Health and Government Operations Committee — which has jurisdiction over Maryland’s insurance, medical malpractice, and consumer protection statutes — and the Maryland General Assembly’s Joint Committee on Behavioral Health and Opioid Use Disorders. His authored legislation includes Janet’s Law, which requires Maryland physicians practicing without medical malpractice insurance to disclose that lack of coverage to their patients; the Hire Our Veterans Act, a jobs bill for unemployed military veterans; and the Animal Shelter Standards Act. He co-sponsored the legislation establishing the Maryland ABLE Program.

Governor Larry Hogan later appointed Christian as Deputy Secretary of the Maryland Department of Disabilities, a role he held from 2019 to 2023 and in which he oversaw the department’s legislative portfolio and managed its policy team. In 2023, Governor Hogan also appointed Christian to the Maryland State Senate.

That legislative and executive-branch experience shapes how Christian advocates for Pinder Plotkin clients. He knows how Maryland’s statutes on insurance, damages, and consumer disclosure are written, because he helped write them.

Christian earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2014 and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2017. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in political science (2004) and his Master of Arts in professional studies (2008) from Towson University. He has been selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Beyond his legal and public-service work, Christian is a Master Mason at Highland Lodge No. 184. Baltimore’s oldest continually operating lodge and a 32° Scottish Rite Mason, Knight Commander of the Court of Honour (KCCH) in the Valley of Baltimore. In 2024, he was elected 49th Grand Sage: international president, of Sigma Pi Fraternity.
