Biography

Christopher B. Lunny has achieved the highest ranking from Martindale-Hubbell rating organization (AV) and been named to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite list of outstanding Florida lawyers for more than ten consecutive years. Since 2009, Mr. Lunny has also been named to the Florida Super Lawyers list, which is a peer-reviewed list of lawyers representing no more than 2% of Florida lawyers. In 2022 and 2024, Mr. Lunny was recognized by Best Lawyers as “Lawyer of the Year” in employment law. Less than 5% of all practicing lawyers are named to the Best Lawyers list and only one is recognized as “Lawyer of the Year” by specialty and location.

Mr. Lunny practices labor and employment law, litigation and government affairs. In his labor and employment practice, Mr. Lunny represents management and has extensive experience assisting clients in the resolution of issues that arise in all phases of the employment relationship including hiring, wage and hour, discipline, severance and termination concerns. Mr. Lunny represents employers in all forms of employment related litigation, including breach of non-competition agreements, trade secret concerns, Fair Labor Standards Act litigation and the defense of race, age, disability, pregnancy, gender discrimination/sexual harassment and whistleblower claims.

Mr. Lunny handles general commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He has tried cases in federal court, state court and a variety of alternative dispute resolution forums. He has also served as primary appellate counsel on numerous reported opinions for both public and private sector clients. Mr. Lunny has frequently been engaged in the high profile defense of elected officials.

Finally, Mr. Lunny practices government affairs and represents clients before state and federal regulators. In that capacity, Mr. Lunny has represented clients before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH), Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Office of Insurance Regulation, Florida Attorney General and many other regulatory bodies. He has defended government investigations from the Attorney General, as well as other regulators.
