Biography

Chris Carr, an award winning and nationally recognized lawyer, represents injured plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. He also represents businesses and individuals in high dollar and complex business disputes. He has practiced law in Texas for more than thirty years.

Mr. Carr’s mission is to seek justice for people catastrophically injured or killed by the acts of negligent corporations and businesses.

Since 1994, Mr. Carr has tried approximately 30 cases to Judges, juries and arbitrators. He briefly interrupted his trial practice for a three-year term as General Counsel at USMD Holdings, Inc. and ultimately managed the legal aspects of the sale of that publicly traded company.

His recent trial experience includes:

• As a member of the trial team, Mr. Carr directed four of the Plaintiffs’ experts, cross-examined a Defense expert and cross-examined critical defense witnesses in a home explosion trial for the firm’s burned and injured clients in San Antonio, Texas in January and February 2025. The firm obtained a $109.5 million plaintiff’s verdict which is thought to be the largest jury verdict for a personal injury Plaintiff obtained in Bexar County, Texas. Robert Rymers and Viriginia Rymers v. CPS Energy, Cause No. 2021 CI18484 in the 224th Judicial District Court of Bexar County, Texas.

• As co-lead trial lawyer, Mr. Carr delivered opening and closing statements to the jury and questioned the majority of the witnesses in a medical malpractice trial for our firm’s paralyzed client in Dallas County, Texas in November and December 2022. The firm obtained a $10.1 million plaintiff’s verdict which was one of the top fifty largest verdicts in Texas (#28 overall) in 2022. Judy “Jessie” and Richard Adams v. Flower Mound Hospital Partners, LLC d/b/a Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound, Cause No. DC-20-17490 in the 68th Judicial District Court of Dallas County, Texas.

• As co-lead trial lawyer, Mr. Carr delivered the opening statement to the jury, cross-examined the CEO of the target defendant, and questioned critical witnesses in a quadruple fatality jury trial in Midland County, Texas in May 2021. The firm obtained a $5.9 million plaintiff’s verdict which is believed to be the largest personal injury verdict in the county’s history. Neva Rogers, in all her capacities v. Luis Rangel, Jr. and Dancar Energy Construction, LLC, Cause No. CV54482 in the 385th District Court of Midland County, Texas.

• Lead trial lawyer in business arbitration tried in January and February 2021 in which the opposing party sought millions of dollars in damages from the firm’s clients, but recovered only slightly more than $30,000. Jumbo Bag Corp. v. Mark Oliphant and Pangea Packaging, Inc., American Arbitration Association Case No. 01-19-0001-2610.

Mr. Carr has appeared in courts located in approximately twenty different states. He has represented parties through the trial or resolution of hundreds of cases involving, in the aggregate, hundreds of millions of dollars in alleged damages.

Mr. Carr has been honored as a Texas Monthly Super Lawyer more than fifteen times. He has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America in 2024 and 2025. He was part of the trial team recognized for obtaining one of the Top 50 Jury Verdicts in Texas in 2022. He has been recognized as a Lawdragon Top 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyer in 2023 – 2025. He was a co-recipient of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association John Howie Award for the “courageous pursuit of justice in the face of adversity” in 2021.

Mr. Carr is licensed to appear in all state and federal courts in Texas and in the US Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
