Biography

Colleen Bannon is the Chief Operating Officer of Marshall Dennehey and a shareholder in the firm. Colleen leads many of the firm’s administrative departments and her deep knowledge of the firm’s operations are supported by her former positions as director of human resources and the director of litigation support.

For many years Colleen was also a practicing attorney, focusing on privacy and data security and representing numerous medical providers, retailers, e-commerce and public entity clients in data breach actions. She is also a highly experienced employment law attorney who has defended clients in discrimination, civil rights and public entity liability matters.

With a deep background in litigation support and information technology, Colleen also successfully led the firm’s E-Discovery program. In this capacity, she worked closely with other attorneys in the firm to provide their clients with cutting-edge legal advice and guidance in this complex area of law. Her understanding of technology applications was significant to her employer and business owner clients, particularly when dealing with exposure in privacy and data security.

She has spoken at numerous conferences, as well as internal seminars, on the topics of electronic discovery in litigation, social media in the workplace, and privacy and data security. She was an author for The Labor Report, a monthly publication of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, which features articles on employment law issues including sexual harassment, disability and racial discrimination.

Colleen has a storied history with the firm. She began employment with Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin as a member of the firm's support staff in 1980. While continuing full-time employment, first as an administrative assistant and then as an applications specialist within the firm's IT department, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Holy Family College in 1992. She then went on to receive her juris doctor from Temple University School of Law in 1996.
