Biography

Corey Mathers is a solo practitioner whose uncommon combination of legal acumen and quantitative rigor shapes his practice. Raised in Joliet, Illinois, he graduated from Joliet West High School in 1988, earned a BA in physics from Carleton College in 1992 and an MS in physics from the University of Iowa in 1996, then completed his JD at Northwestern University School of Law in 2005. Admitted to the Illinois bar in 2008, he has maintained a solo practice since. His technical career began at Lucent Technologies in 1997 as a technical team lead and continued in product management at Apropos Technology in 1999. While transitioning to law he also served as general manager for multiple startups, applying analytic skills to strategic decision‑making, contract structuring, and risk assessment. Married to his Carleton sweetheart, he and his wife have two young sons, and he remains an avid fan of the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks.
