Craig Alexander has had a diverse practice throughout his legal career focusing on civil litigation defense and legal ethics. A seasoned trial attorney, Craig has served as lead counsel in more than 40 jury trials and more than 100 non-jury trials. He has served as appellate counsel in cases before the Supreme Court of Alabama, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Craig’s legal ethics practice primarily consists of providing advice and counsel regarding the scope and interpretation of the Alabama Rules of Professional Conduct. He assists lawyers in responding to Complaints Against a Lawyer and the representation of attorneys in disciplinary proceedings before Alabama State Bar. Craig also assists bar applicants with Alabama State Bar Character and Fitness hearings. In connection with this practice, Craig has been an active member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers since 2010, and he has served on its meeting planning committee. Craig also has given dozens of CLE presentations on legal ethics topics
Outside of his law practice, Craig serves on the Alabama Bar Exam Drafting Committee, with the responsibility for drafting a bar exam question and a model answer on civil procedure and evidence. He served as an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama School of Law from 2011 to 2025, teaching a course on Alabama Civil Practice and Procedure. He also has served for many years as a member of, and subsequently as the chair of, the Amicus Curiae Committee of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association.
