Biography

Dana has over 20 years legal experience, primarily defending product liability, automobile liability, premises liability, toxic tort liability, and bad faith lawsuits. She has also developed an extensive insurance coverage practice, an appellate practice, and a federal court practice where she has successfully filed and prosecuted numerous declaratory judgment actions.

Dana has published a number of articles in recognized legal treatises including Am Jur Trials and MDLA Quarterly. She has served as a guest speaker on the admissibility of expert testimony, voter identification, and trial examination of a fire and fraud expert and has taught Business Law as an Adjunct Professor at Itawamba Community College.

Believing in the importance of giving back to the community, Dana has served on local and county executive committees, on the Tupelo Historic Committee, in Tupelo Rotary Club, as an instructor for Christian Women's Job Corps, on the board of directors for a number of civic and charitable organizations, as a delegate to the Board of Delegates for Mississippi Swim, Inc., and as a Certified Starter and Certified Official for USA Swimming sanctioned swim competitions and championships.

Dana has received a number of special honors and recognitions including being named “Top 40 Under 40" by the Mississippi Business Journal, graduating from both CDF's Community Leadership Institute and the Mississippi Leadership Program, and being nominated by Congressman Roger Wicker to attend the Business and Professional Women's Leadership Summit chaired by U. S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Mrs. Dearman obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in 1986 and her juris doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law where she served on the Mississippi Law Journal and the Moot Court Board and as a student member to American Inns of Court. A life-time learner, Mrs. Dearman completed three courses in National Security Studies through the American Military University after graduating from law school and recently enrolled in Spanish at Itawamba Community College.
