Biography

Daniel C. Fulmer has represented people charged with misdemeanor and criminal and vehicle and traffic offenses since 1997. He has a reputation as one of the leading driving while intoxicated defense attorney during this time.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Daniel graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School where he earned first team, All Greater Rochester baseball honors. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University.

Upon graduating law school, Daniel returned home to Pittsford, N.Y. and passed the New York State Bar. He began his legal career in 1997, as an associate for the Law Office of Thomas D. Cook, one of the largest driving while intoxicated defense firms in upstate New York at the time. During his eleven years with the Law Office of Thomas D. Cook, Daniel handled approximately a thousand driving while intoxicated cases and arguable conducted more driving while intoxicated trials and suppression hearings than any other attorney in upstate New York.

In 2008, Daniel started the Law Office of Daniel C. Fulmer as the sole proprietor. From 2008 to 2018, Daniel conducted approximately 200 criminal trials and suppression hearings. He represented his clients at New York State Department of Motor Vehicle chemical test refusal hearings and has written hundreds of criminal defense motions. From 1997 to 2018, Daniel successfully had criminal charges reduced or dismissed for most of his clients.

In 2018, Daniel accepted a position as principal law clerk to a Monroe County Court Judge who was an acting New York State Supreme Court Justice. In this position, Daniel drafted felony suppression decisions, habeas corpus decisions, omnibus motion decisions, post-conviction motion decisions, grand jury decisions regarding the sufficiency of evidence and defectiveness of the proceedings, and jury instructions for many local, high-profile felony cases. Daniel’s position as a principal law clerk, provided him full spectrum, unique criminal practice experience.

Daniel now brings his experience and skills back to private practice as the sole proprietor of the Law Office of Daniel C. Fulmer. His mission is to provide aggressive and skilled defense for his clients with criminal charges, while providing them compassionate representation as they navigate their way through a difficult time in their lives.

In addition to his admission the New York State Bar, Daniel is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association. He is admitted to the United States District Court, Western District of New York, and the United States Bankruptcy Court.
