Biography

Attorney Daniel “Dan” O’Malley joined Raleigh Divorce Law Firm in September 2025. Dan has been practicing family law since 2010 and is a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist. He has also been recognized as Best Lawyers in America for Family Law.

Dan joins Raleigh Divorce Law Firm with over a decade of Wake County family law experience. At Raleigh Divorce Law Firm, Dan continues to exclusively practice in all aspects of North Carolina family law including divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, alimony, separation, mediation, and alienation of affection. Dan represents clients in complex litigation cases. Many of his cases involve high assets, businesses, long-term alimony, and complex and high conflict child custody cases. Dan guides and educates his clients through the legal process from the initial consultation through trial. Dan endeavors to provide his clients with knowledge of the law and all avenues and options to resolve their case.

Dan values mediation and the settlement process and is willing to reach an amicable resolution to a case when and if it benefits his clients. However, Dan’s true domain and what sparked his desire to practice family law is the courtroom. Dan is an experienced and seasoned litigator, prepared to vigorously represent his clients’ interest in court.

Dan was born in Houston, Texas and lived in Illinois, Maryland, and Pennsylvania before making Raleigh, North Carolina his home. Dan graduated from Juniata University with a B.A. in Political Science. He went on to attend and graduate cum laude from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
