Biography

Daniel C. Taylor (“Dan”) has been practicing law since 2002 and is Senior Counsel with Borton Petrini. His practice is focused on the defense of individuals, public entities, businesses and self-insured persons and entities. This involves personal injury, premises and products liability, real estate, commercial banking, business and contracts and mortgage disputes, and construction defects. Dan is adept in a variety of areas of the law with experience in California State and Federal courts, including extensive trial, mediation, and arbitration experience.

During his incumbency, as an attorney, he has been with other AV rated San Francisco and Sacramento civil litigation defense firms. Before becoming a member of the California State Bar, for several years, he served as an executive at a Statewide Savings & Loan. He was also the Chief Auditor and Regulatory Compliance Executive at a multi-state Mortgage Banking firm.

Dan graduated from San Francisco State University in 1981 with a degree in Economics. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Empire College School of Law in Santa Rosa and was admitted to practice law in 2002. He has been admitted to practice in California Courts and the Northen and Eastern District of Federal Courts where he has successfully represented clients at the trial level. He is a member of the State Bar of California, and the Sacramento County Bar Association.

He has previously served as a City of Novato Planning Commissioner, President of Novato Ecumenical Housing, a non-profit affordable housing corporation, and a temporary judge for the Sacramento County Superior Court. He is currently a State Bar of California fee arbitrator.

Dan enjoys classical music, and the history of the British Monarchy and Roman Empire.
