Daniel E Kelly

Daniel Kelly focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including real property disputes, estates, securities, and corporate matters. Daniel also handles employment litigation, criminal defense cases (in New York and New Jersey), and immigration matters. He has broad experience with insurance and construction litigation.

During his career, Daniel’s practice has also included internal investigations and white-collar litigation.

While attending law school, Daniel interned with the Honorable Dennis M. Kavanaugh (ret.), a United States District Court Judge for the District of New Jersey and the New York State Appellate Division. Additionally, he was a Legal Intern and Public Interest Fellow at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office.

Some of Daniel’s recent representative matters include:

• Successfully obtained an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal in a criminal matter prosecuted by the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorney’s Office. The client was charged with third-degree assault and faced exposure of up to one year in jail if convicted at trial. The case was ultimately dismissed in its entirety.

• Successfully negotiated a plea bargain for Disorderly Conduct as a violation of the law (not a crime) with the New York County (Manhattan) District Attorney’s Office. The client was charged with a Class A misdemeanor and faced exposure of up to one year in jail if convicted at trial but was only required to complete community service and pay a surcharge to resolve the case.
