Dan is a true product of Indianapolis, raised in Lawrence and Franklin Townships by a police officer and a bank teller. Those early years taught him the value of hard work and fundamental fairness—lessons he carried through Ball State University and into Valparaiso University Law School, where he graduated near the top of his class in 1990. That same year, he opened his firm with the belief that anyone whose freedom is at stake deserves the absolute best representation. For over three decades, Dan has focused exclusively on criminal defense, serving as lead counsel in more than 4,000 cases. His experience is incredibly broad, ranging from high-stakes murder trials to misdemeanor traffic and drug offenses.
