Biography

Mr. Donovan practices in commercial litigation, with an emphasis in ad valorem tax valuation disputes and eminent domain/condemnation issues. He is the section leader of the Geary, Porter & Donovan’s Property Tax Law Group. And, together with this talented group of attorneys, he has built one of the most successful property tax practices of its kind in the State of Texas.

Mr. Donovan has more than 40 years of experience litigating ad valorem tax appeals throughout the State of Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Sam Houston State University in 1976, and his law degree, with honors, from Texas Tech University in 1980. Mr. Donovan began his legal career as a law clerk for United States District Judge Mary Lou Robinson. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1980, and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
