Dan McInerny is of counsel in the Environmental Law and Agribusiness Groups, and has been a practicing attorney since 1984. Dan concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental, natural resources and agricultural law, and also has an extensive background in Indiana administrative law. His experience includes environmental due diligence for property transfers; Clean Water Act permitting and enforcement; RCRA, CERCLA and remediation; Brownfields and Comfort Letters; DNR permitting and enforcement; and insurance coverage for cleanups. Dan also represents clients in a variety of water issues, including groundwater and surface water resources; stormwater and wastewater infrastructure and construction; wetlands, streams and floodway permits; and Indiana Water Rights law.
A graduate of Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, he received his J.D. and a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from that institution. Prior to joining Bose McKinney & Evans, Dan served as a deputy attorney general, representing the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, the Department of Natural Resources and the Indiana State Department of Health.

Dan is a frequent author, speaker and media resource, addressing numerous topics related to environmental law, including litigation, administrative law, governmental agencies, changing environmental laws and regulations, hazardous waste, site cleanup, water quality, farming regulations, confined feeding operations, environmental due diligence and wetland development. He has spoken at numerous seminars for Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, and has made presentations to the American Agricultural Law Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Insurance Institute of Indiana, Purdue University Staff, Lewis and Clark College, Indiana University School of Business, Indiana Agribusiness, the Hoosierland Preservation Task Force, the Governor's Environmental Conference, Indiana Water Pollution Control Association, Inc., Agri America Network, National Business Institute, Inc., Indiana Environmental Institute, Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen's Association; Indiana Agriculture Regulatory Structure Task Force, First Financial Bank Lender Forum, August Mack Environmental and Indiana Veal Association.
