David A. Esquibias is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law and maintains a practice devoted to estate planning, trust administration, probate, and trust and estate litigation. His work includes contested trust and probate proceedings, will and trust contests, conservatorships, fiduciary accountings, and proceedings involving trustee, executor, and conservator duties and removal.
Mr. Esquibias has substantial experience in matters involving heir and beneficiary rights, fiduciary disputes, and the administration and litigation of trusts and estates. His practice also includes counseling in related areas such as federal estate and gift taxation and Medi-Cal planning. He is frequently called upon to address complex issues arising from the intersection of estate planning, probate procedure, fiduciary obligations, and family conflict.
He received his B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, his J.D. from Vermont Law School, and his Master’s in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law. He is a frequent lecturer at the United States Naval Base, Ventura County, on estate planning, federal estate and gift taxation, and Medi-Cal planning.
Mr. Esquibias has held numerous professional and civic leadership positions, including service on the Advisory Council of California State University, Channel Islands; the Board of Directors of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section of the Ventura County Bar Association; membership in the San Fernando Valley Bar Association; service as the Ventura County Bar delegate to the State Bar; and board service with community nonprofit organizations. His career reflects a sustained concentration in estate planning, trust and probate law, both in counseling and in litigation.
