David Tongg’s practice areas include real estate and business sales and acquisitions (including asset, stock and other ownership interests), business formation (all types of legal entities), mergers and reorganizations, real estate financing (including loan defeasance matters and legal opinions), commercial leasing (including drafting, review and negotiation for landlords and tenants), and general corporate, business and related tax matters.

Education/Work Experience

Mr. Tongg received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1984 from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduating, Mr. Tongg worked as a project engineer/construction manager for nine years in Hawaii. He then attended law school at the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law. While at law school, Mr. Tongg was a member of the law review and published “The Qualitex Quandary: Was Trademark Protection for Color Per Se Clearly Resolved?”, Hawaii L. Rev. 445 (1996).
