Biography

Dave has a wide range of experience in representing business clients and their owners, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, executive compensation, employee benefits and estate planning. This includes the use of a number of intergenerational gifting and transfer techniques such as family limited partnerships, GRATs, and split interest charitable gifting.

Dave has extensive experience and expertise in representing the business needs of closely held business owners and professionals. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for twenty years.

Dave has been a leader in his community and the legal profession. He is a past president of the Polk County Bar Association and served on the Board of Governors of the Iowa State Bar Association. Dave has given back to the community as a board member and president of a number of local civic, charitable and educational organizations, and prior to attending law school served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.
