Biography

David M. Mayer is the managing shareholder of Monsees & Mayer, P.C., a nationally recognized personal injury and sexual abuse law firm serving clients throughout Missouri and Kansas, including Kansas City, Springfield, Branson, and St. Joseph. His practice focuses on representing victims of serious personal injury, sexual abuse, automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability, child sexual abuse, and catastrophic injury cases.

A Kansas City native, David has dedicated his legal career to protecting individuals and families harmed by negligence and abuse, particularly children and the elderly. He has successfully handled complex litigation involving institutional sexual abuse, dangerous property conditions, serious motor vehicle collisions and wrongful death claims. His notable case results include a $24 million sexual abuse verdict, a $5 million swimming pool negligence verdict, and numerous multi-million-dollar confidential settlements on behalf of survivors and injury victims.

David earned dual undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Economics from Boston College before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, where he was recognized as a Victor Wilson Scholar and recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas, as well as the United States District Courts for both states and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Throughout his career, David has received numerous honors recognizing both his legal ability and commitment to client advocacy. He holds the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, has been recognized among The National Trial Lawyers Top 100, and has been named among the Nation’s Top 1% by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. He has also been recognized by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys for exceptional client satisfaction.

In addition to his legal practice, David is active in community and charitable organizations throughout Missouri and Kansas and has dedicated time to legal aid and advocacy efforts supporting vulnerable individuals and abuse survivor
