David M. Oneill

As a lifelong Nebraskan, David O’Neill brings both local perspective and real-world experience to his work. Born in Omaha and a proud Omaha North High School graduate, David earned his business administration degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1998 before pursuing law at Creighton University, where he graduated in 2005. He first joined Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop, P.C. as a law clerk in 2002, giving him an early start learning the firm’s approach to client service and trial preparation. After earning his J.D., David devoted his practice to public defense, first in the Sarpy County Public Defender’s Office and then with the Office of the Federal Public Defender. In 2007, he returned to Hauptman O’Brien with a strong foundation in litigation and a commitment to standing up for people who need help navigating the legal system. David is also active in the community through the Offutt Advisory Council and volunteers at Offutt. Clients appreciate his calm, straightforward communication and his ability to make complex issues feel manageable.
