Biography

David M. Paris, a partner at Piro, Zinna, Cifelli, Paris & Genitempo, supervises the firm's litigation section and is a certified Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court. Since joining the firm in 1979, following a judicial clerkship, he has specialized in the trial of medical malpractice cases for patients and complex products liability, professional negligence and general liability cases with substantial damages. Paris has also handled complex commercial and estate litigation cases. David is listed on the Superior Court of New Jersey's Roster of Mediators, Statewide Mediation Program for Civil, General Equity and Probate cases. He has spoken at the national conventions of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners about Plaintiff's medical malpractice litigation.

In the public sector, Paris served for 13 years as Municipal Attorney for the Township of Fairfield and 15 years for the Borough of North Caldwell. He performs employment practice investigations and has served as a hearing officer for public entity employee disciplinary matters.

Paris was also elected Councilman in North Caldwell in 2001, re-elected in 2004 and served as Council President for four years. He is a member of the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys and the New Jersey State and Essex County Bar Associations. Paris was named a Diplomat in Local Government Law by Rutgers University and the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys in 2004. A graduate of Boston University and Boston University School of Law, Paris is admitted to the Bars of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He has served on the New Jersey Supreme Court's District Ethics and Fee Arbitration Committees. He has been named a New Jersey Super Lawyer for ten years.
