David was admitted to the practice of law in Kentucky as well as the United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky, in 2009. Prior to his admission to the bar, David was a 2006 graduate of Pikeville College where he obtained a B.A. and a 2009 graduate of the Appalachian School of Law where he received his J.D. David is also the author of "America's Energy Frontier: Offshore Natural Gas and Oil Production in the Gulf of Mexico" which was published in the Appalachian Natural Resources Law Journal, Vol. 3, Issue 1 (2008-09). As a member of Porter, Schmitt, Banks, and Baldwin, David's primary practice is focused on insurance defense with a portion of his time dedicated to pro bono legal work in the community.
