Biography

David McDonough practices in WSHB's Northern California office, where he focuses on complex civil litigation, construction defect litigation, professional medical malpractice, and consumer rights throughout the state of California, in both state and federal court. He also is a Discovery Facilitator, helping resolve discovery disputes through a program in Contra Costa County Superior Court. In addition to litigating cases, David also acts as a trusted advisor to dozens of companies, working to help them avoid the pitfalls of litigation, and safeguard the companies' futures.

Prior to joining the firm, David handled all facets of litigation involving trust litigation, business litigation, and real estate litigation, including appeals. He also was involved in numerous business and real estate transactions, including negotiating franchise transactions for both the franchisor and the franchisee.

David graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1999, where he was managing editor of the Fidelity and Surety Law Journal. Thereafter, David passed the Texas Bar, and worked in-house at the largest rental car company in the United States. He also operated his own firm before leaving Texas for California in 2006.

After passing the bar in California, David was staff counsel for a real estate and development company, handling both complex litigation and several transactions, and then worked for a small firm representing individuals and small businesses throughout Northern California.

Prior to attending law school, David received his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. When not zealously representing clients, he is active in his church, enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and two children.
