Biography

With a career spanning 38 years, David T. McKenzie is a highly distinguished practitioner at Farzaneh Law Firm P.C. David earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1988, following advanced studies in Criminal Justice and American Studies. His extensive litigation experience includes roughly 300 jury trials across multiple states, earning him a reputation for excellence that has been recognized with an AV Preeminent rating for over three decades. David is deeply involved in the legal community, having served as Chairman of the OBA Criminal Law Section and as a board member for the ACLU. A respected educator, he has shared his knowledge as an adjunct professor and through hundreds of hours of continuing legal education, earning the Earl Sneed and Golden Quill awards. In 2026, he will receive the Lord Thomas Erskine Award, a prestigious honor reserved for those who prioritize the preservation of liberty above all else. Beyond his roles as a Special Judge and attorney, David is a lifelong fan of OU football and the OKC Thunder. He is also a dedicated follower of the Flaming Lips, traveling worldwide for their shows, and loves spending time with his three sons and his dog, Annie.
