David W. Hilkert

David W. Hilkert is a partner in Stark & Knoll's Litigation & Employment Group. Prior to joining Stark & Knoll, Dave practiced law in Akron for nearly 40 years. He focuses his practice on the areas of commercial litigation and insurance law.
He graduated from and from The Ohio State University, cum laude, in 1974 and The University of Akron, magna cum laude, in 1971.
Dave has more than 35 years of litigation and trial experience during which he has represented numerous Ohio businesses with insurance and commercial litigation issues. Dave has been recognized with multiple awards from his peers in the legal community. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2007 and Ohio Super Lawyers® since 2004. In 2011, Best Lawyers Akron named him Insurance Lawyer of the Year. He was recognized by Super Lawyers in 2008 and 2009 in their Corporate Counsel Edition and in the 2011 Business Edition of Super Lawyers for Business Litigation. In addition, he has a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV, which indicates very high to pre-eminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as determined by legal colleagues

Dave is an active member of the Akron community. He gives back to the community by serving on the Board of Directors for the Good Samaritan Hunger Center and the Pregnancy Care Center of Summit County. He has previously served as a member of the Our Lady of the Elms Lay Advisory Board and the United Way of Summit County Distribution Committee. He resides in west Akron.
