Biography

A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Delena and her husband Pat were married and began practicing law together in 2016. They live together with their twin daughters. Delena began her career as a law clerk with the Connecticut Superior Court for the Hartford Judicial District. In this role, she coordinated proceedings, interacted with Judges, counsel, jurors and handled evidence and evidentiary matters in Part A criminal trials. Delena practices criminal and personal injury law. She handles complex Part A and federal criminal matters throughout Connecticut. She has distinguished herself as one of the few people who has secured the release of an accused on parole who was convicted of murder as a juvenile.

Delena graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2014, where she earned her Juris Doctor and Tax Certificate. While in law school, she served as Legislative Clerk to the House Democrat’s Caucus where she researched and authored memoranda concerning pending legislation, administrative law, and Freedom of Information requests. Additionally, Delena participated in the UCONN Law Poverty Clinic and attended Social Security Disability and housing hearings on behalf of low income clients in the Waterbury area.

Delena is admitted to the bar of the State of Connecticut and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is a member of CCDLA, NACDL, and has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 in 2020 and 2021.
