Biography

Attorney Dennis G. Charles has devoted more than four decades to defending the rights of his clients, earning both national and local acclaim for his distinctive legal acumen. A cum laude graduate of Muhlenberg College and alumnus of Temple University School of Law, he began his legal journey in 1979 by partnering in private practice with his brother Fredrick. Throughout his career, Dennis has held respected roles such as Assistant Solicitor for Lehigh County and Deputy Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission. His wide-ranging practice includes criminal defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, and a longstanding dedication to civil rights litigation. He has consistently represented underserved individuals, particularly in mental health involuntary commitment proceedings, and has defended over 15,000 of these cases, achieving pivotal outcomes including multiple Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) verdicts.Dennis has appeared on national media, including A&E’s “American Justice” and Court TV, and is rated “AV Preeminent” by his peers. Beyond his legal career, he is an accomplished golfer, skier, and FAA-licensed pilot, as well as an animal rights activist. His personal interests have influenced his practice, which includes aviation, sports, and animal law. With countless trial victories and appellate successes, Dennis remains one of Pennsylvania’s leading trial attorneys.
