Biography

Devin James Piper is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law where he graduated cum laude. Among other cases on which he is working at Clifford Law Offices, he is part of the trial team on a medical malpractice case in Cook County involving failure to diagnose and treat hypertension that led to a stroke.

He was a part of the law school’s trial advocacy mock trial team where he competed nationally in Houston, Texas, in March. He currently serves as a coach for the law school’s 2023 trial advocacy team that will be competing nationally at UCLA School of Law in November.

Piper clerked at Clifford Law Offices since lMay 2022. Prior to that, his experience included serving as a judicial extern for the Hon. Bridget Hughes of the Circuit Court of Cook County and as an intern in the State’s Attorneys’ Offices in Champaign and St. Clair counties. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

Piper served as Vice President of the American Constitution Society and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Corporate Law Society, Future Trial Attorneys Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and American Bar Association.
