Biography

Dixie Dan Powell has earned his reputation as a tough and fearless litigator through his experience in trying complex catastrophic injury cases in courtrooms across the country for the past 30 years. Dixie has handled cases against some of the world’s largest corporations and defendants and continues to hold them responsible for their actions in the courtroom and has received numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. He has handled and tried cases involving wrongful death, serious personal injury, brain injury, medical negligence, premise liability, negligent and hospital security, products liability, toxic tort, insurance disputes, commercial litigation, civil rights, and other cases. He strongly believes in our jury system and continues to fight and seek justice for his clients and their families in the courtroom with 100% of his practice devoted to litigation and trials. Dixie Dan's motto is, "You must be prepared to take your case to trial."

He is an advocate for consumer justice and is member of the American Association for Justice, the Okaloosa-Walton County Bar Association, the First Circuit Trial Lawyers Association for Justice, and an Eagle member of the Florida Justice Association. He is admitted to practice in all Florida courts and in Federal court.

Dixie Dan Powell is a lifelong resident of Northwest Florida. His roots run deep in the business and legal community. Dixie received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of South Florida in 1979 where he was an Honors student. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston Texas in 1983 where he specialized in mock trials. He is the founder and head of Powell Injury Law, P.A. which he established as a state-of-the art trial litigation firm specializing in catastrophic injury and mass tort litigation.
