Biography

Don Jacobson brings over four decades of legal experience to his practice, with a focus on civil trials and alternative dispute resolution, particularly mediation. With more than 20 years of mediation experience, Don is dedicated to resolving business and family conflicts efficiently and effectively. His formal training and certifications in mediation from the Harvard Negotiation Project and the CDR Associates basic mediation course underscore his commitment to facilitating constructive dialogue and achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.

In addition to his legal practice, Don has played a pivotal role in establishing several nonprofit organizations and navigating their recognition as nonprofits by the IRS. He remains actively involved with various nonprofit organizations in the Denver area, leveraging his expertise to contribute meaningfully to their missions.

A graduate of The University of Texas (B.A. 1970) and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law (J.D. 1975), Don's commitment to legal education extends beyond his practice. He has taught in academic and internship programs at the Sturm College of Law and participates in student mentoring initiatives. Don is also a sought-after lecturer on effective advocacy, having shared his insights with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

As a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, Don actively contributes to the legal community through his involvement in various committees, including the CBA/Joint Professionalism Coordinating Council, the Peer Professional Assistance Group, and the Legal Fee Arbitration Committee. His dedication to pro bono service is evident in his longstanding volunteerism with the Denver Bar Association's pro bono advice call-in program, now in partnership with KUSA Channel 9, known as "LawLine 9," where he has volunteered for over 30 years, providing valuable legal guidance to those in need.
