Biography

As a Partner at Bowen, Scranton & Olsen, Don Olsen brings extensive criminal defense experience from both Wisconsin and Ohio. He has litigated more than 50 jury trials and overseen hundreds of motion hearings across a diverse range of criminal matters. Mr. Olsen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison, and began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Dane County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained experience in cases ranging from traffic offenses to major felonies. He also contributed to legal education as an adjunct professor, teaching trial advocacy through the university’s mock trial program. After moving to Ohio, he served with the Columbus City Attorney’s Office, developing a thorough understanding of the Franklin County Municipal Court and establishing lasting connections within the legal community. Mr. Olsen holds certifications in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and advanced detection, and is actively involved in officer training initiatives. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Olsen remains committed to legal education and advocacy, as reflected in his published work on legal proceedings.
