Open for Business
Donald A. Thompson: Attorney with Thompson Law, PLLC

Biography

Don Thompson, founder of Thompson Law, PLLC, discovered his passion for law through a series of life experiences that shaped his career. Although he aspired to become an attorney in his youth, his path initially led him into business. In the early 1990s, he launched a company with several investors but soon faced complex shareholder disputes. With limited financial resources, he represented himself in litigation, enduring multiple lawsuits, a trial, and two appeals over five years before reaching a settlement. This experience rekindled his desire to pursue a legal career and highlighted the challenges of self-representation. While navigating his legal battle, Mr. Thompson and his wife, a veterinarian, established the Veterinary Center at Fishhawk. Balancing business and family life, he earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2011. As a parent of a child with special needs, he became an advocate for families seeking educational resources and support for their children. Mr. Thompson is committed to providing affordable and effective legal solutions for individuals and small-business owners. His personal and professional experiences inform his dedication to helping clients achieve fair outcomes without the financial strain often associated with legal representation.
