Donna Sue Zmijewski

Donna Zmijewski is a Partner at Alvarez, Thompson, & Smoak, P.A. Donna has focused her practice on litigation.Donna obtained an Accounting Degree with a double minor in finance and marketing from Cameron University in 1999. She thereafter received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in 2002. Go Sooners! While in law school, Donna was a member of the trial team, an officer in the Federalist Society and an officer in the St. Thomas More Law Student Association.

Donna began her legal practice at the Orange County State Attorney’s office where she tried more than 30 cases to verdict. She is proud to say that her win-loss record was amongst the best in the office. She then took a position as lead trial counsel for the Department of Children and Families. Thereafter, she spent six years, almost all of it in the courtroom, protecting the rights of children. Before joining Alvarez, Thompson & Smoak, P.A., Donna worked as a Plaintiff’s personal injury attorney and as an insurance defense lawyer for more than 12 years. She has represented small businesses and individuals who were sued in personal injury claims ranging from car accidents and slip and falls to wrongful death and brain injury cases.

Donna is originally from Lawton, Oklahoma but has resided in the Central Florida area since 2002. Her husband, two children, and two dogs are the love of her life. When she is not working, she spends her time at her son’s baseball games or visiting her daughter who is attending Florida State University. She loves kayaking and spending time in nature.
