Biography

Douglas H. Patton is an experienced trial lawyer whose litigation practice focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on plaintiff’s antitrust cases. He represents clients seeking individualized relief rather than participation in class-action litigations. Most of his cases involve federal multidistrict litigation throughout the country. Douglas has represented aggrieved clients in both domestic price-fixing and international cartel actions. He has represented clients injured in their business in a wide array of industries, including: computer information systems; retail grocery products (commodity eggs and shelf-stable tuna); pharmaceuticals (brand name and generic drugs); manufactured commodities (EPDM, hydrogen peroxide, persalts, polyurethane foam, styrene butadiene rubber and polychloroprene); and waterborne shipping services (cabotage and parcel tankers).

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Douglas attended Poly Prep Country Day School and traveled west where he enrolled at Utah State University and received a B.S. in Political Science with minors in English and Philosophy. He returned home and graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1988.

His experience in nearly thirty years of practice includes successfully trying cases in both federal and state courts on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. He is dedicated to seeing each case through to trial. His trial experience reflects an equal commitment to trials as short as a week and more complex trials that have lasted several weeks and months. He also advises clients and trade association members in the area of antitrust compliance.
