Biography

Ann joined CSB Advocates (formerly known as Zammit & Associates - Advocates) in January 2011 and her previous experience was concentrated on legal drafting, particularly contract drafting, general civil and commercial law.

She read law at the University of Malta and was conferred a B.A. in Legal and Humanistic (European) Studies in 2006, and a Diploma of Notary Public in 2007. From September 2008 to February 2009, Ann followed an ERASMUS program at the University of Leicester with focus on 'Feminist Perspectives on International Law' and 'Commercial Conflict of Laws: Matters of Enforcement and Jurisdiction'. She obtained her doctorate of Laws in 2009 after having defended her thesis entitled "Is Maltese Law with regard to the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Sea Satisfactory?"

She later read a Masters degree in International Maritime Law at the International Maritime Law Institute Malta, an institute established under the auspices of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). She submitted her thesis entitled "The Maltese States' Powers in the Contiguous Zone in Relation to a Potential Environmental Threat: A Review," together with a Drafting Project "An Act to Implement the 2009 United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Carriage of Goods Wholly or Partly by Sea - the Rotterdam Rules, into Maltese Law" and graduated with Distinction in May 2010. Ann was admitted to the Maltese bar in February 2010.
