Biography

Arthur Schwartz, M.D., J.D. is both an experienced trial lawyer and medical doctor with nearly 40 years of experience, including 10 years as the head of ENT medicine at Anne Arundel Hospital in Annapolis, Maryland.

Dr. Schwartz has consulted on health issues throughout the United States, Europe, and Africa and has served as an advisor for the World Health Organization. As a physician, Dr. Schwartz has practiced ENT surgery and immunology since 1977. He also served as a community hospital department chairman for 10 years.

As an attorney and litigator, Dr. Schwartz is widely recognized as an authority on Stark laws, Medicare rules, and medical contracts. A respected lecturer and educator, he has taught health law at the University of Maryland and John Hopkins. He also lectured on health policy at Georgetown University.

In 2003, Dr. Schwartz’s peers voted him one of the 25 most influential people in healthcare in Maryland.
