Drew Gilliland: Attorney with Nick Schnyder Law Firm, LLC

Biography

Drew is a trial attorney who loves helping clients through difficult times. His client philosophy is simple: treat every client like a family member.

After graduating from Emory University School of Law (where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Honor Scholarship), Drew started his legal career as a felony prosecutor for the State of Florida, and tried more than 50 jury trials during his tenure. Drew and his wife then moved back to Georgia where he represented Fortune 500 companies in personal injury lawsuits.

After seven years of learning the ins and outs of how the defense industry protects itself against personal injury lawsuits, Drew decided to use his skills to represent people who have been injured by another’s negligence. Since he became a personal injury lawyer, Drew has worked for the largest personal injury firm in the country as well as a boutique litigation firm.

Drew has lectured on trial strategies and is frequently asked to co-counsel on cases with other attorneys. He has recovered millions of dollars for his clients since he became a personal injury attorney.

In the past three years, Drew has resolved the following cases:

• Jury verdict in Henry County for $203,450 (client had 18-month gap in treatment and $8,500 in medical bills; defendant’s insurance policy was $50,000; insurance carrier paid the full judgment).

• Slip and fall settlement for $250,000 (client slipped and fell in bathroom with no eyewitnesses; client had a 14-month gap in treatment; client’s medical bills were less than $40,000).

• Trip and fall settlement for $350,000 (client waited five years to get surgery and her medical bills were $60,000).

• Slip and fall settlement for $750,000 (client suffered a bad dislocated shoulder and underwent two surgeries, total medical bills were $120,000).

• Trip and fall settlement for $350,000 (client broke her ankle on uneven pavement at hotel and had $50,000 in medical bills).

• Negligent security settlement for $499,999 (client’s medical bills were under $100,000).

• Trucking settlement for $425,000 (client’s medical bills were under $100,000 and liability was disputed).

• Car wreck settlement for $325,000 (venue was Bartow County and insurance carrier paid $225,000 over its insured’s policy limits on the night before trial).

• Trucking settlement for $250,000 (client had 17-month gap in treatment with $45,000 in medical bills and disputed liability).

• Trucking settlement for $187,500 (client’s medical bills were under $50,000 and he had more than a 12-month gap in treatment).

• Car wreck settlement for $200,000 policy limits (client had $13,000 in medical specials).

• Car wreck settlement for $150,000 (after multiple depositions, the insurance carrier paid $100,000 over its insured’s policy limits).

• Car wreck settlement for $100,000 (side-swipe collision with paint scratches and the venue was Cherokee County).

When Drew is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their 5-year-old daughter. When they are not taking their daughter to Disney World, they live in Brookhaven, Georgia.
