Biography

Duncan Hubbard is a leading international real estate finance lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in the sector. His clients include global funds, financial institutions and investors.

Duncan has acted on some of the largest UK and international property finance transactions, from single assets such as The Gherkin and The Shard in London, to cross-jurisdictional funds with investment and development portfolios across the world, ranging from data centers in the UK to logistics in Korea. He has wide-ranging experience throughout the capital stack from senior to structurally subordinated debt and private/listed bonds.

Duncan is currently recognised for Property Finance in Legal 500 2024.

Experience: Representative Matters: Advised a range of clients on market-leading transactions, including: Civitas as lead co-ordinating counsel on their 485 million take private sale to Hong Kong-based CK Asset Holdings.; More than 1 billion in private rented sector (PRS) scheme financings for various funds, including Invesco and Civitas.; In excess of 9 billion loan book sales including Bank of Ireland's sale to Kennedy Wilson and Lloyd's Banking Group's Project Thistle program to insurance companies, including Scottish Widows, Halifax Life and Clerical Medical.; Project Bedrock, a 1 billion portfolio financing across eight jurisdictions in Europe, acting for Invesco as fund.; Project Spire, a 700 million acquisition and financing of a portfolio of private hospitals from the Spire Group by Employees Provident Fund of Malaysia, and most recently Project Duo and Exo, over 1 billion of financing across Europe and Asia, including logistics in South Korea.; The above representations were handled by Mr. Hubbard prior to his joining Greenberg Traurig, LLP.;
