Biography

Earl Farkas joined the firm in 1994 and is an equity partner. Earl concentrates on business litigation, transactions and client counseling, and has experience working with, advising and representing companies engaged in a variety of businesses in the manufacturing, distribution, sales, banking, real estate and service sectors.

Earl has extensive litigation experience involving shareholder and partner disputes, breach of contract, business torts, employment disputes, distribution and franchise termination and legal malpractice. Earl also defends companies during regulatory investigations, including those brought by or through the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, the Federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, the Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Company. Earl regularly appears in state and federal courts, before arbitrators and mediators and in administrative proceedings.

Earl also routinely negotiates and drafts vendor, employment, banking, asset purchase, lease and other agreements, and consults with clients in regard to regulatory compliance, employment matters and the many legal ramifications of day-to-day business transactions.
