Edward J. Rantz, Jr

Transactional Practice Area Leader and Frilot partner Edward J. Rantz, Jr. has extensive expertise handling a wide range of business transactions. Mr. Rantz has handled a number of high profile transactions since joining Frilot in 2004, most notably as lead attorney for the borrower on the addition of real estate properties to a revolving line of credit totaling $250 million. He also served as the lead attorney handling the refinancing of commercial properties in 11 states worth $42 million and as the lead council for a home purchase program for a Class Action lawsuit stemming from the Murphy Oil Spill in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Mr. Rantz also acted as lead counsel in a major home purchase program in St. Bernard Parish. In addition to commercial real estate, corporate work, general leases and contracts, and real estate closings, Mr. Rantz has also represented lenders and borrowers in commercial financing transactions both in the United States and in the international market.

A former Law Clerk for Associate Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Jeffry P. Victory, Mr. Rantz graduated from Louisiana State University in 1994 before going on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University in 1997. He is a charter member of the New Orleans Bowl Committee and serves as the Vice President of the Law Enforcement Emerald Society of New Orleans.
