Elizabeth J. Sandonato is a Partner at MCB where she defends doctors, teaching hospitals, health care systems and other medical professionals in medical malpractice matters. Elizabeth has experience defending nursing home malpractice cases as well as general negligence cases in all phases of litigation.

Elizabeth is a highly accomplished civil litigation attorney specializing in medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and general negligence lawsuits for over two decades. She is an experienced strategist with an exceptional ability to identify case issues, strategize defense, and obtain successful and pragmatic outcomes. Elizabeth successfully brings matters to resolution through mediations and settlements and has a very high summary judgment motion success rate. Elizabeth has obtained multiple defense verdicts in various counties in New York throughout her career, and has argued in the appellate division.

Elizabeth brings risk management experience from the client’s perspective to the MCB team. As a senior claims counsel in the risk management department for one of New York’s largest medical systems, Elizabeth was responsible for managing a large caseload for several hospitals. She has extensive experience collaborating with leadership within hospitals on potential claims as well as discovery and quality issues.

Elizabeth received her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 2001 and her B.A. from Binghamton University in 1998. She is admitted to practice in New York.
