Biography

Ellen A. Pansky is a highly regarded attorney specializing in the defense of attorneys, bar applicants, and other professionals in regulatory and licensure proceedings. She also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in civil legal malpractice actions and provides expert consultation on legal ethics and risk management. A California State Bar Certified Specialist in Legal Malpractice Law, Ms. Pansky was appointed to the State Bar of California’s Ad Hoc Commission on the Discipline System in 2021. She is a prolific lecturer, having delivered over 100 continuing legal education courses, and has contributed to various legal publications. Ms. Pansky is a member of The American Law Institute and an Inaugural Fellow of the National Institute for Teaching Ethics and Professionalism. Her leadership roles include past president of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers and active participation in the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Recognized for her contributions to legal ethics, she has received numerous awards, including the Charles W. Kettlewell Legal Ethics Advisor Award. Ms. Pansky is also a published author in the field of legal ethics and has extensive experience as a prosecutor and general counsel for the State Bar of California.
